Increase Safety Through Easy Maintenance

Maintenance

Before you start out on the first ride of the year, and after any really rough ride, check that all the safety-crucial bolts are tight. Check manufacturer's specifications.

WELDTITE CYCLE OIL is a general purpose cycle lubricating oil and can be used on any moving part of the bicycle.

TF2 AEROSOL/LUBRICANT SPRAY WITH TEFLON ® and TF2 PLUS all contain Teflon® which penetrates better than standard oils, and they leave behind a waterproof coating of Teflon®. The Teflon® dries and continues to act as a long lasting waterproof lubricant.

TF2 EXTREME is an extremely durable wet type lubricant for chain/gear systems. It is a long lasting synthetic high performance oil with special additives for reducing frictional losses and increasing efficiency. It has excellent water wash off resistance.

DRY WAX WITH KRYTOX® is a heavy duty wax which clings onto the chain long after mineral oil and other lubricants have been washed away. Apply a fresh coat every couple of long rides, or after rain. It is best to clean the chain with CITRUS DEGREASER before using SMAX for the first time.

Change the oil in hydraulic forks roughly every 1000 km. This will keep them operating as new for much longer. SUSPENSION FORK OIL contains anti-foam agents that help the forks cope with the toughest of trails. Use the correct weight of suspension oil as per the manufacturer's recommendation. The Weldtite SUSPENSION OIL is the most popular 7.5 weight.

If you cannot undo any bolts or move the saddle up or down, use TF2 AEROSOL LUBRICANT SPRAY WITH TEFLON® to loosen them off.

Before every long ride, lightly spray the brake lever pivots, gear pivots and chain with TF2 to force out damp or if preferred, use NONSPRAY TF2 PLUS. The solid Teflon® it leaves behind when dry will then keep on working for many kilometres, even in the rain.
